James Alfred Gay Jr, Lakeland, FL – Jim Gay, 75, formerly of Colchester Vermont, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, due to complications of dementia.

He is predeceased by his wife Karen (Devino) Gay, his parents Jim and Jean Gay and brother Bruce Gay.

Jim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Myra Gay of Texas, Daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Bob Stearns of Lowell, Vt., grandchildren, R.J. and Ashley Stearns of Florida, Amanda and Chris Williams of Maryland, Alexandria Gay of North Carolina, Jonathan Gay of Texas, great grandchildren Chase and Avery Williams of Maryland, siblings: Sandy Smith of Burlington, Debbie & Gary Welker of Franklin, Vickie Lawrence of Grand Isle, Craig & Laural Gay of Richmond, Terri & Joe Boylan of Burlington, John Gay of Essex Jct., Kathy & Kevin Brown of Burlington, Karen Davis & Matt Brisson of Colchester, Mike & Crissy Gay of South Burlington, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

A service will be held on Monday June 16,2025, 12:00 noon at Holy Cross Church in Colchester - 416 Church Road, Colchester, VT 05446. Reception to follow immediately at the church hall with Burial following at 4 p.m. in Plains Road Cemetery in Westford.

So very sorry to hear about Jim passing. So many memories of our days playing softball and bowling. Shared many laughs. We had many good times when he lived in the apartment above our store. My deepest sympathies to all the family. Prayers and thoughts are with you all at this most difficult time.
