Julia Peteet (affectionately known as Julie or JuJu) beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many passed away on April 8th 2024, in Piscataway, NJ. She was born on December 17th, 1954, in New Brunswick, NJ, to the late Emory Peteet Sr. and Anna Ruth Peteet. Julie’s love for life was pure from the moment she entered this world. Her infectious laughter and warm smile touched the hearts of all who knew her. At a young age Julie was baptized at Union Baptist Church where she developed her love for singing in the choir. Her passion for music was evident throughout her life as she loved to sing and dance with an unmatched sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her. She could light up any room with her quick wit and playful banter. Julia had a heart full of love for everyone she met; her kindness knew no bounds. Her relationship with God was central to her life; it gave her strength during difficult times and guided her through moments of joy. Julie graduated from South River High School and went on to work diligently at Kimberly and Clark as a Machine Operator in Spotswood, NJ, before later becoming a Data Entry Clerk at Iron Mountain in East Brunswick, NJ. She was known for her dedication and hard work which earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She is survived by her loving daughter LaTrechia Peteet-Fowler and son-in-law Travis Fowler; granddaughter Aaliah Burney; six brothers, Emory Peteet Jr. and wife Dolores, Donald Peteet, Coleman “Teddy” Peteet and wife Antoinette, Edward Peteet and wife Tia, Louis Peteet and wife Ivette, and Joseph Peteet; she also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and others who cherished their time spent with Julie dearly. Preceding Julie in death are her three sisters, Minister Shirley Peteet, Linda Peteet, and Donna Peteet. The loss of Julie has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. The memories created with Julie will forever hold a place in their hearts. Julie’s memory will forever live on through those whose lives she touched with love kindness and laughter.
